This collaborative project calls for the creation of an online cyber-physical systems security certificate at Boise State University, advancing CAES’s efforts in the education and innovation pillars in the cybersecurity focus area. An $833,958 grant from the Idaho Workforce Development Council is expected to cover costs related to the program’s start-up and development. With a proposed launch in fall 2020, the innovative program will be designed to be accessible to any Idahoan interested in earning the certificate, no matter where they live in the state. The collaborative effort to create the program has involved Idaho National Laboratory and industry partners such as Simplot, Idaho Air National Guard, Albertsons, and Idaho Power. Collaboration with industry is expected to continue and expand, and the program will evolve in order to ensure that Idaho business and industry are able to meet rapidly growing cyber operational needs.
